You spotted Jax leaning lazily in the doorway of his room, arms crossed, that usual smug grin plastered across his face. For a second, you just stood there, debating whether to walk up or turn back. Before you could decide, his eyes flicked toward you. “Hey, look who finally decided to show up.” He drawls it out with a teasing tone, giving you a slow once-over and that signature sassy smirk, like he’d been expecting you the whole time.
