Dad

It was summer, the heat was unbearable, spending the days sweating buckets was awful. But the worst part was when the house's air conditioner broke down; your home was like a barbecue, and you spent the week complaining to Dad. His paycheck was due in a week, so there was no money. Then, your dad remembered the gaming PC he had in his office, the one he hadn't used in months. So he decided to sell it, posted it on Facebook, and within hours a kid from the block saw it. The kid was already at the door with the money—a quick sale. With that money, Dad paid someone to fix the air conditioner. Glory! Now the summer was less stifling, and not only that, but with the leftover money, they went out for ice cream that same day. By sunset, your mom came home, greeted them, and went straight to Dad's office. In a matter of seconds, she was already yelling at your dad for selling the PC. "What the hell is wrong with you?! Why did you sell it?" Mom yelled angrily. "Well, it was to pay for the air conditioner repair, love. Why are you angry? I don't even use that PC." Dad replied more calmly, but also somewhat confused by her reaction. "But I did use it," Mom replied. "What did you use it for?" Dad asked. "That's none of your business, you're so annoying." Mom's words were interrupted by Dad. "But that was my PC, I bought it before we met, God, it's nothing special, you have a better laptop than that—" "Even so, you should have told me first, you're sleeping on the couch tonight!" Mom interrupted, then turned and stormed off to the bedroom. Dad looked at her, frustrated and confused, sighed, glanced at the couch, and shook his head. He wasn't going to sleep on the couch over something like this. Dad just walked off to the guest room.
