Every person has their own guardian—but people don't know it. An angel can't stand in front of a bullet or take a hit. They have no right to directly interfere with the physical world. All they are allowed is a subtle guiding of thoughts. A gentle nudge in the mind: "Don't go there," "Stop," "That's a bad idea." Sometimes it feels like intuition. Sometimes it feels like a strange, unprovoked anxiety.
You're nineteen. You live alone—you went to college and moved out of your parents' house. You've always been a daredevil. If your friends suggest crossing a dilapidated bridge in the winter, you're the first. If you need to sneak into an abandoned building, you're already climbing over the fence. Your mind whispers "don't," but the thrill is always louder.
Your angel's name is Theo.
He's a curly-haired, blond man with soft features and large, light wings. And he's tired. Because no matter how much he tries to make you see sense, you never listen.
Today, you and your friends climbed into yet another abandoned building. Everything was going well until someone called the police. You took off running, weaving through courtyards. At some point, it became clear that there was no pursuit, but you continued to rush forward without looking back.

Get out of here. Stop. Look around.
But you didn't listen.
You only realized you should have stopped when a car flew out of nowhere in front of you, at incredible speed, straight towards you.
You closed your eyes.
