Appearance Cubbie is an anthropomorphic black cat with a pencil sharpener as a replacement for a torso. His tail resembles a long-curved pencil shaving. What appears to be an opened book rests on the top of his torso. He has large eyes with big black pupils.

He wears a dark blue plaid long-sleeved shirt, black pants with a brown belt, a pair of brown shoes and white rectangular glasses.

Profile He is smart and talented, but also somewhat cynical and prone to angsting. He believes he must keep up his status as the top student in his grade, so that his mother will love him, a goal that drives him to cheat on a test.

Appearance Much like Detective Cirlce, Amy is a little girl who also has her mother's spiky black hair save for its shoulder-length. Her hair too, tapers to two horns on top of her head. Normally, she is seen wearing a white turtleneck under a sleeveless pink dress with two shades of red, white socks and pink penny loafers. Trivia Detective Circle is her blood mother, not an adoptive one. Engel is her 0th cousin.

Profile Unlike her original counterpart, Riley Maples is a timid and shy girl who tends to apologize a lot. And despite the lack of a notable musical aptitude, she dreams of becoming an accomplished musician who can perform with the band in front of an audience.

Appearance Like his original counterpart, Robby has black fluffy hair, except with a yellow card and a red place on top. He has three claw-like fingers and often seen stepping on a soccerball.

Robby has a band-aid on his nose and seldom seen wearing a school uniform at school; instead, he wears the turquoise PE uniform.

When he's in soccer club, he wears a black and yellow shirt with an orange top and black shorts as his soccer uniform.

Appearance Zip's hair is two-toned, with the left side being white and the right being black. The longer part of her hair is tied into a low ponytail. An ominously red equation saying "2 + 2 = LIAR" is written on the left side of her head. Additionally, she has a swirly-squarish ahoge on top of her hair.

At school she wears a standard school uniform with white stockings. She has notably a spiked dragon tail, accompanied with a standard school uniform with white stockings and long black boots with heels (she sometimes wore white knee-length socks with brown boots instead). Trivia Zip never returned Abbie's affections and instead considered him to be "a pain in the ass".

Strangely, the right side of her face is covered by a Persona Compendium with words "Le Grimoire de Coeur" written on the surface.

Additionally, she has black-striped red fingerless gloves and black-striped white stockings. Her black lace-up dark gray heeled boots are faintly checkered as well. She carries a deep blue bag, adorned with golden designs and matching her officer's cap with a golden button and a V gravure, most likely as a reference to the Velvet Room.

Like her siblings, she is dressed entirely in dark blue inlaid with black and golden accessories. Although her skin is pale white, her hands and legs are both black, and her feets are pointed.

His lower attire consists of a pair of trousers with their ends rolled back. He also wears a black suit with a long-sleeved white dress shirt, a crooked dark red tie, and brown field boots.

Information Detective Circle. Lead Police Officer.

Appearance Detective Circle is built solidly with an exceptionally tall, albeit somewhat narrow frame. She has very long spiky black hair that extends all the way past her knees. Her hair tapers to two horns on top of her head, one of which has two white lines on it. She is frequently seen wearing a dark gray shirt with pulled up sleeves (sometimes), a loose, light red necktie and a brown belt with a metal buckle as well as a pair of dress pants. Despite carrying it around most of the time, Circle is never seen wearing her black jacket.

She also sports a pair of tall dark brown boots, with pointed sharp fingers for both of her hands.

Profile Detective Circle is the Lead Police Officer, responsible for heading investigations into the mysterious serial killings around Paperville. Specializes in homicides and hand-to-hand combat.

Trivia Circle had a husband called Compass, whom she served together in the police force. Unfortunately, Compass died in the line of duty a few years ago, and Circle has been single-handedly taking care of Amy ever since. It hasn't been decided whether Circle is Engel's aunt-in-law or aunt proper.

Information A mysterious robotic being hailing from the TV World, who has a thing for bears.

Appearance Ruby has a white flat-screened television for her head. Her black monitor displays box-shaped eyes, eyebrows, a mouth, and cheeks, all of which are colored light pink. Her hair is blonde and knee-length. She also has two bear-like ears, with a rainbow arch in between them, accessorized with a female symbol.

Ruby's torso is in the shape of a cone, and her arms are blocky. She sports a pink overall dress with a pastel stripe in the middle. Three pink dots are lined up in a column on the center of her overalls. Her attire is finished with rainbow-colored leg warmers and black shoes. Her limbs are black, however, her wrists are blue. She also appears to have a Type-A USB for a tail.

Information Well-known by her alias Lizzette, Lizzy is in fact a well-known pop star within the idol industry but is on hiatus due to work fatigue. Currently, residing in Paperville to take a break from show business.

Appearance Skell is the tallest member of the Investigation Team despite his young age compared to the rest of the Investigation Team, and is bigger and more imposing than all of them. has shoulder-length black hair with black horns, the left one having two white stripes. He wears a collar with a large bell and a skeleton pin in his hair.

He appears to have a black tail. His feet and fingers are pointed.

He wears multiple piercings, metal jewelry, a black long-sleeved shirt with a skull-and-crossbones design on the front under his school uniform, and a white belt.

He is often seen wearing the conventional school uniform of Eighty Deities', which consists of a black jacket with black and white houndstooth pattern on the collar and gold pins on each side of the collar, one in the shape of a roman numeral "2" on the left and one in the shape of an inverted three-point star, along with black pants, an untucked white button-up shirt and black loafers.

In the spring of 2011, Engel the city boy transfers to the quiet rural town of Paperville to live with his aunt and young cousin. What begins as a simple year-long stay quickly turns unsettling when the town is rocked by the scandal surrounding their TV announcer, a certain Miss Bloomie. Days later, she is found dead—mysteriously hanging from a television antenna in an apparent murder with no clear suspect.

While rumors swirl, the local high schoolers begin whispering about a strange phenomenon known as the “Midnight Channel,” a rumored TV broadcast that supposedly appears on rainy nights at midnight and reveals one's destined partner. On Petunia's suggestion, Engel and his new classmates check it out for themselves—and are disturbed by what they see.

The plot thickens when Zip, the student who discovered Bloomie's body, also vanishes. Not long after, word spreads: she has been found dead under similar, inexplicable circumstances. Her underclassman Abbie—already struggling with life in Paperville—takes the news hard, and it deepens the group's suspicion that something far more mysterious and dangerous is happening in their quiet town.

As the atmosphere grows more uneasy, a haunting question takes hold: is there a connection between these events—and could the Midnight Channel be more than just an urban legend?
