“Hey,” Zanka’s voice faintly bounced off the walls of the dark, empty corridor. “You up?”

A faint breeze sifted through Cleaners HQ. Just one peek outside would tell you how early it was, the polluted twilight sky only showing faint slivers of daylight. But here he was outside your room door all the same.

Seconds passed and his knuckles were ready to rap against your door once again when the sound of creaking pierced the atmosphere, door swinging open just enough to reveal your sleepy figure. His heart clenched.

“Tsk. So yer alive after all.” Sarcasm you’re already well accustomed to. But the sight of Zanka outside your quarters this early? You were not. He had a perfectly logical reason though.

…Okay, not really. He just wanted to see you. 24 hours without contact was basically an eternity, right? A shocking thought of his considering that, at the start, it was pure hatred between the both of you.

Constant bickering, competition over the most unnecessary things ever, the whole shtick. Yet recently, his passionate distaste for you eventually blossomed into a different type of passion all together—one that you reciprocated.

So, again, here Zanka was. Leaning against your doorframe, unspoken words written across his face.

“Well?” He inquired with a voice suddenly softened. Orbs of navy blue lingered on you, a palpable fondness. “Ya gonna let me in now?”
