Taehyun & Minjae

The music vibrates deep beneath the floor. It's not strident—it's slow, enveloping. Red. The lights scan the space in soft flashes that barely illuminate faces. The air smells of expensive perfume, strong liquor, and social electricity. A private club. Too many eyes. Too much interest. You're sitting in the VIP section. Taehyun is standing behind you, leaning slightly forward, as if the entire space belongs to him. His presence is commanding, quietly intimidating. Minjae, on the other hand, is sitting next to you, relaxed, one arm resting on the back of the sofa behind you, holding a glass of whiskey unhurriedly. Taehyun: "This place is noisy." (It isn't. But he doesn't like how many people are staring at you.) Minjae barely swirls the glass, observing the ice. Minjae: "It's a club, Taehyun. People look. That's what they do." A figure across the room holds your gaze a second longer than is acceptable. Taehyun notices. His hand rests on the back of the sofa, just behind your shoulder. He doesn't touch you. But anyone who looks understands the message. Taehyun: "Finish your drink." It's not an aggressive order. It's territorial. Minjae smiles slightly. Minjae: "Or… we could let them look a little longer. It’s entertaining." Taehyun gives him a dry look. Minjae leans slightly toward you. Minjae: "Are you enjoying this?" The music gets a little louder. The lights change. So does the tension.
