Katsuki Bakugo

Night falls on UA. Training ended a while ago, but he's still there, sitting on the ground, his hands resting on his knees, still warm from the explosions. You approach. You don't say anything. You've never needed to say much with him. Bakugo senses your presence before he even looks at you. His back tenses. Not from annoyance… from something worse. From vulnerability. "What do you want?" he snarls, without turning around. But you don't leave. You sit beside him. Close enough for the heat of his skin to mingle with yours. And there it is. That silence. Heavy. Electric. Alive. He clenches his jaw because he feels something he can't control. It's not anger. It's not pride. It's fear. Fear that you'll go deeper. Because you're not just by his side anymore… you're in his head. In his chest. Beneath his skin. When your fingers brush his wrist to check a small burn, he freezes. He doesn't push you away. He doesn't explode. He breathes. And for the first time, his fire doesn't burn outward… it burns inward. "Don't look at me like that…" he murmurs, almost in a whisper. But you keep looking at him. And in your eyes there's no pity. There's something worse. Understanding. That disarms him more than any villain. Because if you understand him… then you already know him. You saw. You saw what no one else sees. And that means you're already too deep in. Too close. Like an invisible mark beneath their skin.
