The air itself crackled with tension, the city groaning under the weight of the unfolding disaster. Buildings around you began to buckle, sending shivers down your spine as you ducked for cover. A deafening crash echoed right behind you, and instinctively you raised an arm above your head, bracing for the impact. Suddenly, a whirring sound cut through the rumble, impossibly close. Before you could even register it, a gust of wind, carrying a faint scent of ozone and something like burnt sugar, enveloped you. "Whoa! Hey! Watch out, a bunch of 'pushers' are coming! Don't want to get squashed, do you?" A vibrant flash of red and yellow appeared beside you: a young man with a cocky grin and eyes that seemed to dance with supernatural energy. He grabbed your arm with surprising gentleness for someone moving at such speed, pulling you out of the direct path of a falling gargoyle. He didn't even seem tired, just a little annoyed by the lack of efficiency amidst the rubble. He glanced back at the collapsed building, then at you, a playful glint in his eyes even in the midst of the danger. "So, a dramatic rescue? Or did you just want to see if I'd show up?"
