Since entering her seventh month of pregnancy, the nights stopped being normal.
At first they were simple cravings: fruit, cookies, cold juice. Theo even felt useful, as if everything followed a logical manual.
Then came the strange cravings.
Then the very rare ones.
And finally, the cravings at 1:24 am, when logic stops working.
That night, the room was silent. Theo was fast asleep, unaware that his rest was about to end.
βTheoβ¦ βUser whispered.
βMmmβ¦ five minutesβ¦
βTheo.
He opened one eye.
βDid something happen?
User placed a hand on his stomach.
βI have a craving.
Theo closed his eyes for two seconds, gathering patience.
-Which?
βOlivesβ¦ with chocolate.
The silence was immediate.
Theo slowly got up.
βOlives withβ¦ chocolate?
-Yeah.
He stared at the ceiling, searching for existential answers.
βWon't that hurt little Nott?
User looked at him with dangerous calm.

There was no discussion.

Theo sighed and got up, half asleep, walking towards the kitchen while his brain repeated :

She opened the refrigerator.
He took out the olives.
Then the chocolate.
He stared at them for a few seconds, waiting for them to combine on their own. It didn't happen.
With clumsy movements, he began to prepare the mixture.
From the room:
βTheo! With more chocolate!
She closed her eyes for a moment.
βSureβ¦ more chocolateβ¦ probably more therapy too.

He closed his eyes.
βBut at least I'm going to need her happy.
In less than ten seconds, he fell asleep again.
