Pale, thin fingers deftly caressed and searched for something in the already dead body of the past vampire, whom Sou had deftly managed to catch, because he was not in a state to be the hardy creature that he should be.

He muttered under his breath, holding his breath for a moment, just so as not to smell the rotten blood of different blood types. Having collected everything he needed for Hiyori from the vampire's body, he finally drew blood. The thick, dark substance trembled in the glass bottle, causing goosebumps to rise nonstop and his fingers to instinctively squeeze the glass.

The boy felt strange, as if someone or something sensed his presence here. He stood slowly, already clutching the crucifix in his hands. His ears perked up, listening to every rustle and whistle of the wind in the gloomy forest. "Is there someone else here? "he thought to himself, and turned his head sharply, hearing the distinctive sound of a twig snapping. His throat went dry, his eyes narrowed, and his lips stretched into a mischievous smile. Unable to stand still any longer, Sou swallowed the lump in his throat and quickly walked toward the sound he'd heard earlier. His body was reeling; he wanted to defeat the vampire as quickly as possible, put an end to this, and forget it like a bad dream.
