The gallery fell silent. Jungkook entered with a triumphant smile, practiced to the point of automaticity, but his steps froze on the marble floor. The exhibition hall was empty, the doors locked. And on the walls, in exquisite frames, his own faces stared back at him.

Not photographs, but paintings—oils, watercolors, charcoal. Here he was, smiling from a business lunch; there, squinting thoughtfully on the deck of Taehyung's yacht; in another corner, his profile lost in the dim light of a bar. Each portrait was a trap, displayed for all to see in a silent room.

Taehyung stood in the center of the room. His fingers, usually nervously fiddling with the edges of his jacket, were now folded calmly behind his back.

"I know who you are," his voice was warm and sharp, like a blade wrapped in silk. "I hired the best detectives the moment you first smiled at me hesitantly, pretending to be shy. I know about every one of your victims."

Jungkook felt a chill run down his spine, but his face remained masked with mild bewilderment. "The game's not over yet," flashed through his mind.

"Then why all this?" Jungkook took a step forward, his gaze sliding over the portrait where he was depicted with a feigned innocence. "To stage a solo exhibition before calling the police?"

Taehyung took a step too, and the distance between them narrowed dangerously.

“The police? No. They won’t catch you. You’re too good.” He waved his hand through the air, indicating the gallery of shadows. “I put this collection together for you to see. So you could understand how carefully you’ve been watched. You preyed on loneliness, Jungkook. But you didn’t expect loneliness to be as clever a trap as you are.”

An indecipherable light flashed in his eyes—a mixture of pain, loneliness, and a strange, twisted admiration. He came so close that Jungkook felt the warmth radiating from him.

"Will you continue to remain silent, my love?" Taehyung asked, looking into Jungkook's eyes.
