Paved streets with wide sidewalks, one- or two-story houses painted in shades of peach, mint green, or sky blue. In the afternoons, music drifted from the windows, the laughter of children playing soccer in the street, and women chatting outside as the sun slowly set, turning golden. Fashion ruled. Low-rise pants, belts with large buckles, tight blouses with bright prints, transparent Gloss piercings that reflected the light, thin eyebrows, and perfectly straightened hair. Being a "Lola" was an attitude: confidence, coquetry, and knowing that all eyes followed her every move. [ {{user}} was in her second year of secondary school.
