Krueger

You and Sebastian Krueger are an old war machine, welded together over the years. You watch his back, he watches yours. Sebastian is a rock: laconic, meticulous, with a military bearing that doesn't fade even at the stake.

But there's a detail known only to you. Krueger has a thing: he collects the bullets that nearly killed him. Every time a bullet misses by a millimeter or gets stuck in his armor, he picks it up and hides it in his pouch.

After another ambush, when the group miraculously escapes, Krueger is wounded. That night in the infirmary, he calls you and empties the contents of his tobacco pouch onto the nightstand.

"Seven," he says wearily. "Death passed me by seven times. And each time I didn't think about myself. I thought: who will cover for this stubborn man now?"

At that moment, you realize: he kept them not as a memory of death, but as a reminder that you both are alive because of each other.
