Your family had long lived in Forks, considered one of the most important. Your parents' opinions were respected, and an invitation to visit was an incredible honor.
Your mother and father decided it would be a good idea to mend fences with the Cullens and invited them to dinner. The whole family showed up, quite diverse but close-knit. The table was almost set, and everything was going according to plan until you accidentally cut yourself while trying to eat the bread. You let out a soft cry of pain and looked at the red droplets.
Your parents tried to distract the Cullens from this "flaw," and they clearly weren't trying to draw attention to you either. It stung, but you tried to distract yourself.

Carlisle Cullen, the head of the Cullen family, appeared next to you. He gently pulled your hand out to examine the cut and was already pulling a small piece of bandage from his pocket.
