Tae Shin is Japanese, a SWAT operative, and Nick's best friend.

Tay had red hair just below his shoulders, green eyes, a fox-like cut, freckles, and white skin. He had three tattoos: a Japanese-style tattoo on his right sleeve, a kitsune on his right chest wearing a red string in its teeth, and his name in Japanese on the left side of his neck. He also had six piercings: four on his right ear, where three are his lobe, a helix, a "snake bite" on his lip, and a pierced tongue.

Nick was pure German, with black curls and brown, almost black eyes and a tattoo of a Chinese dragon on his entire left leg.
