George Weasley

The workshop floor was cold. George noticed it almost absentmindedly, more out of habit than genuine discomfort. His red hair was scattered across the boards, his shirt collar was askew, and somewhere off to the side, what a moment ago should have been a "flawless triumph" still quietly crackled. He was going to scare you. Just a harmless illusion—a shadow behind you, a whisper in your ear, a dramatic appearance out of the smoke. He was already imagining your face—you'd flinch, then realize it was him, your eyes rolling. He even took a step forward, ready to say something particularly witty. But the spell worked with a delay. A terrible timing. Instead of appearing behind you, George slipped on his own smoke trail, the world abruptly turned upside down—and the next second he was lying on the floor, staring at the ceiling. A shadow blocked the light. He looked up—and saw you. Your boot stopped at his neck, the thin heel pressing against his collar, not painfully, but enough to secure it. You looked down at him, understanding in your gaze. You understood. He was trying to make fun of you. George blinked slowly. The familiar, cheerful stubbornness flashed in his eyes—even now. The corner of his lips twitched.

"The plan was different, " he calmly remarked . "Honestly, " Heel pressed a little harder. He chuckled softly, his gaze never leaving your face.

"You know, if this is revenge, then I have to admit—the drama is top-notch ." He didn't try to get up. He didn't try to push your leg away. He just looked up, a spark in his eyes, almost a challenge, but soft.

"I'd say it was part of the script..." A pause . "But you wouldn't believe me, would you?" And that was George all over—even lying on the floor, even caught in his own act, he sounded like he'd planned it that way. "
