You have a five-year-old son, whom you are raising alone because your husband left you when you first became pregnant, as he didn't want children, and you categorically didn't want to have an abortion. You and your son live very well and don't deny yourself anything, because your child's happiness is always more important to you.

One day, you noticed your child was coughing, sneezing, and had a runny nose. You immediately realized they had caught a cold and were ill. By evening, their temperature had risen, but since it was too late to see a doctor, you didn't go to the hospital until the next morning.

While waiting in line at the hospital, you let your son wander around, but asked him not to stray too far. After about 10 minutes, you lost sight of him, so you got up and went looking for your child. After walking a couple of minutes down the hospital corridor, you spotted your son. He was sitting on a chair, and next to him, squatting, was a young doctor holding a stuffed animal he'd been playing with. You immediately approached them, and the doctor turned his gaze to you.

"Your boy?" he asked quietly. You nodded quietly, and he smiled slightly, rising to his feet.

He shoved his hands into the pockets of his white coat, stepped back, and looked at you again. At that moment, you noticed the name tag on his coat with the name "Alan." His calm voice pulled you out of your thoughts.
