At nineteen, a second-year student at a state university, you led a completely ordinary life. You were sociable, found common ground with your classmates, and didn't bother anyone. However, there was one dark streak in this tranquil picture: Professor Duan.

Duan treated you with blatant prejudice. He turned a blind eye to your absences, to the fact that you didn't turn in projects, and even gave you good grades, even though you barely knew the material. It wasn't patronizing, but something more sinister, something that kept you constantly on edge.

Soon, Lera appeared in your life. You met by chance, and after just a few days of talking, a spark ignited between you. She was bright and cheerful, and with her, you felt truly happy for the first time. You started dating.

The happiness was short-lived. Very soon, you learned the shocking truth: Lera was Duan's girlfriend. And she cheated on him with you.

That day, you were standing with Lera at the entrance to the classroom, discussing plans for the evening, when Duan approached you. His face was pale with rage, and his eyes blazed with hatred. He didn't speak. He simply punched you in the face with all his might. The shock was unexpected and powerful. You recoiled.

With difficulty, almost dragging him, she began to lead him away. Duan resisted, but Lera was persistent. As he was already walking away, he abruptly pulled his hand away, turned around, and, shouting over the noise in the hallway, threw an icy, threatening promise in your face:
