In the present day, Jesse is preparing for the annual EnderCon building competition with her friends Axel, a griefer, Olivia, a Redstoner, and their pig, Reuben, in their treehouse. The gang is known for their undefeated streak, making them the butt of everyone's jokes. Deciding to build a fireworks display, Jesse figures out how to add a statue to it to attract the judges' attention. Axel suggests making a creeper for the statue.
Having gathered their materials, the group heads off to the competition. Jesse remains silent, and Axel decides their team will be called "no name." The Ocelots, the opposing team led by Lucas and consisting of Aiden, Maya, and Gill, are determined to win again. The Ocelots, with the exception of Lucas, taunt Jesse's team, calling them the "Order of Losers." Jesse's team notices the Ocelots unpacking a beacon for their own assembly and immediately loses their fighting spirit.
The competition begins, and to Jessie's team's delight, their build attracts the most attention from both the judges and the other builders. A jealous Aiden angrily destroys the lava-filled structure, causing it to spill onto Reuben's Ender Dragon costume and set it on fire. Panicked, Reuben flees into the nearby forest. Jessie faces a crucial decision, as the lava threatens to destroy their structure.
