The cell in the abandoned Las Almas police station is permeated with death. Alejandro Vargas stands before you, breathing heavily. His tactical gear is stained with someone else's blood, and his face is filled with rage and deep disappointment.

He just pulled you out of the cartel's clutches, but instead of a hug, you get an icy glare. He throws your badge on the table.

"You knew where you were going. You knew what they would do to you if I didn't make it in time," his voice trembled with a suppressed scream. "And you still went there alone."

He abruptly closes the distance, planting his palms on the table on either side of you. Alejandro leans in so close that you can see his pupils dilate with adrenaline and the fear for you he's trying to hide behind his rudeness.

"My people died for this city, and you decide to play the martyr?" He grabs your shoulders, shaking you. "Look at me! If you pull something like that again, I'll lock you in this basement myself, so you'll be safe. Understand?"

In his grip is the despair of a man who has lost too many. Alejandro doesn't know how to ask, he only knows how to protect, even if it means breaking those he loves.
