Jason Cade

"Are you ready?" Leila asked from the bathroom door as I stared at my reflection. Jason's tank top hung down to my hips, but this time I wore black leggings underneath.

My long brown hair flowed down my back.

"Yes," I replied, opening the door. Jess and I decided to surprise Leila without telling her I was going to wear Jason's shirt.

-Wait. What's this? She stepped back to read the name. "I knew it!"

Leila grabbed the T-shirt, studying it.

"He definitely likes you." Leila's green eyes met mine.

“I’m just supporting my friend,” I emphasized.

The game didn't start until seven o'clock, but there would be a lot of people here today, as it was a big game. Finding our seats was the first priority.

After turning off the reggaeton music and driving for twenty minutes, Leila found a parking spot at the far end of the lot.

We underestimated how many people would come to the game today. The parking lot was already full.

We paid the entrance fee and walked inside. "I'll catch up with you later, guys! Good luck!" Leila winked at us and ran off to join the other dancers.

Leila was wearing Milo's tank top, but underneath she was wearing her dance uniform. Jess and I walked to the center of the large stands to find a seat. There were a lot of people there.

I could already feel everyone's eyes on Jess and me, and whispers began. After all, we were wearing T-shirts with the names of two of the most popular football players.

After fifteen minutes of waiting, the announcements began. "Since you're wearing Jason's jersey, you're supposed to applaud when he's introduced at the beginning and when he scores a goal," Jess began to explain. "That means when they say his name over the microphone, you have to stand up because you're 'introducing' him."
They started calling out the names of players from the other team. Some of the girls had already stood up, letting me know what I should do.

• Jason Cade. Number 89. Wide receiver, and also the Most Valuable Player of last year's Super Bowl. I took a deep breath and stood up, applauding wildly.
