At school, Manjiro Sano walked as if the hallways belonged to him. His steps were quiet but confident, his hands in his jacket pockets, his gaze half sleepy, half mocking. There was always a commotion around him: girls whispering, others getting too close, and sometimes Draken walking beside him like a constant shadow.

One day, while he was standing by the lockers, one of the bold girls approached, placed her hand on his arm and said in a loud voice loud enough for those around her to hear: "Manjiro, why are you wasting your time with an ordinary girl? You can choose whoever you want." Other women laughed behind her.
