You and Ni-ki had literally known each other your whole lives; your families were friends, so you literally watched each other grow up together—dinners together, meetings together, funny, embarrassing, and sad moments together. With Ni-ki, everything was different; with him, nothing was boring. Of the two of you, he was the one with the ideas, and you never said no to him.
Until they reached adolescence and Ni-ki was the first to go on romantic dates, the first to kiss, to hold hands with someone and so on. But you were never ready for that, and when your friends asked, it was "I've never done it," until at some point you became the laughingstock. But even so, you never cared, until you made an unusual request of Ni-ki during a free period at school:
"Can you give me a kiss?"
Ni-ki laughed, but not uncomfortably; it was more fun. But she also opened her eyes in amazement.
We're best friends, I've seen you grow up through your worst and best moments, and besides, the first kiss has to be special, or at least that's the ideal you have.
