Cargo Bay
The cargo bay is a huge, cold room with long metal shelves extending deep into the bay. It is filled with endless boxes of Pony Express cargo—mouthwash, stacked in endless rows.
After the crash, access to the cargo bay was restricted. Swansea refused to let anyone in, claiming the room was filled with construction foam and dangerous. This was a lie.
In reality, the cargo bay contained cryopods. Most of them were malfunctioning, but one pod remained operational. Swansea hid this fact from the crew. There is a theory that he wanted to save the pod for either Anya or Daisuke—as a last chance to save someone.
An air duct runs through the cargo bay, connected to the medical bay.

Swansea's Utility Bay
The Utility Bay is Swansea's workspace. Tools, spare parts, panels, and repair equipment are stored here. The space is cramped, cluttered, and smells of metal and chemicals.
After the crash, the bay was partially filled with construction foam used for emergency sealing. It was here that Swansea and Daisuke attempted to repair the air duct leading to the medbay.
During one of the repairs, Daisuke became stuck in the construction foam when it began expanding faster than expected. He was eventually extricated, but the incident was yet another reminder of how dangerous any work on the ship has become.
The Utility Bay is a constant battleground for repairs, where every fix comes at a cost of effort, time, and nerves.

🛸 Tulpar Cockpit (Before the Crash): The cockpit is the heart of the ship's control. A spacious but cluttered room, illuminated by the cool green glow of screens.
In front of the pilots' seats is a large route monitor, displaying the delivery course, the ship's position, and navigation data. Surrounding it are numerous buttons, touchpads, and auxiliary screens controlling the autopilot, stabilization systems, and communications.
Curly's seat is in the center—the captain's seat. Next to his seat is a small locker for storing personal belongings, documents, and service media.
To Curly's left is Jimmy's seat, the copilot. He has full access to the control systems and the autopilot.
Before the crash, the cockpit was perceived as the most secure place on the ship—decision-making was done here, the route was under control, and emergency alerts seemed distant and theoretical.
It was here that Jimmy disengaged the autopilot and deliberately adjusted the ship's course, sending it directly toward the asteroid. Unbeknownst to the rest of the crew, this change occurred.

Before the crash, the medbay looked like a functional, tidy space with clean surfaces, bright lights, and organized medications. The atmosphere was calm, orderly, like a working tool—everything for healing and maintaining health. After the crash, the medical bay's interior remained largely unchanged, but traces of construction foam, which the crew uses to seal gaps and cracks in the bay, have appeared in the corners. The foam forms loose lumps on the floor and walls in places, forcing one to make a curved walkway to get from the entrance to a cot or table.
Anya and Swansea's playlists, recorded on a small tape recorder, fortunately survived even after the crash. When Jimmy enters the medical bay and hears a faint melody, he says:
"Anya and Swansea's playlists, unfortunately, survived even after the crash..."

The medbay is a small room designed for first aid and crew health monitoring. It is located next to the main living area corridor and is easily accessible to all crew members.
The medbay has one medical bed, typically used for examinations, wound treatment, and patient monitoring. It is on this bed that a burned Curly later ends up, barely hanging on after a series of injuries.
To the right of the entrance stands a table neatly laid out with painkillers, bandages, syringes, and some medical papers with notes on the crew's condition. The table also contains notes and records of blood pressure drops, temperatures, wound conditions, and medication schedules.
Several sheets of paper are pinned to the wall behind the table: they contain news from the Pony Express database, clippings, memes, and drawings. One of the drawings is a disgusting, exaggeratedly ugly image of Jimmy, which Anya and Daisuke jokingly drew during one of their long nights. Jimmy has no idea it's him and regularly asks, perplexed, why this "scary guy" is here.
In the corner of the medbay, there's an IV line connected to a metal stand. It's usually monitored when someone is exhausted or dehydrated. On the floor to the right of the bunk is a broken, dangerous air duct. Swansea and Daisuke regularly try to fix the duct, rushing around the bay with tools, poking around metal panels. Swansea curses under his breath, especially when he encounters stuck screws or kinked tubes, while Daisuke cheerfully suggests fixing everything "like a baseball: hit the target!" but more often than not, it ends up "bang—wrong again."

🛸 Main Hall of the Tulpar (Before the Crash):

In the center of the metal wall of the Tulpar spaceship is a large holographic screen. It most often broadcasts sunsets, the cosmic sky, or an artificial blue sky—images created to provide psychological comfort to the crew during long-haul missions.
In front of the screen is a small table and blue sofas, designed for all crew members. Cups from meals are usually left on the table, along with a board game. Anya and Daisuke often play here together. Daisuke almost always wins, which makes Anya genuinely angry, though she tries not to show it.
On the right side of the hall is the kitchen area. It contains cabinets and a work counter, as well as several Pony Express vending machines. One dispenses standard rations, another soups and simple fast food. A separate machine dispenses packets of water and gelatin, as well as dry "sweet powder," which Daisuke especially likes and often takes in excess of. The main hall features motivational posters featuring Polly, a cartoon horse wearing a yellow Tulpar T-shirt and a Pony Express cap. A small statue of Polly also stands here. The posters feature standard corporate slogans like "Polly says: Rise and shine!", designed to boost crew morale.
A small bookcase with books stands against one wall. An ottoman sits nearby. The crew sometimes read here in their free time. The lighting in the hall is soft and warm, reminiscent of an evening sunset, while other times it's dimmer, simulating a space night.
It was in this hall that the crew celebrated Curly's birthday. The celebration was modest but warm. However, that very day, Curly was to deliver bad news: the entire crew was scheduled to be fired after the voyage. This spoiled the atmosphere and became an ominous harbinger of things to come.

Свонси: "Уххх... хорошо пошла! Да чё ты закипишилась, это для здоровья. Возраст, сама понимаешь!"
Дайске: "Похоже накидаться ополаскивателем проще простого..."

Так как у остального экипажа нет сбережений, Кёрли не хотел рассказывать об увольнении другим членам корабля, но сегог был его день рождение — Аня, Дайске, Свонси и Джимми одели праздничные колпаки и устроили ему праздник. Кёрли испёк торт, но за столом весь экипаж поссорился, так как Кёрли пришлось рассказать новость об увольнении других"

7 дней до крушения: Кёрли прошёл психологическое обследование в медотсеке у Ани.
Кёрли: "Ну что, психологическое обследование пройдено успешно?
Аня: "В прошлый раз на всё вопросы вы ответили точно так же. Получается мне осталось опросить всего одного человека..."
Кёрли: "Джимми?

Кёрли вышел из медотсека и пришёл в хозяйственный отсек. Джимми стоял в коридоре возле двери.
Джимми: "А в Пони Экспрессе ещё говорили что развлечений на борту не предусмотрено!"
Кёрли: "В той комнате буд-то каждый день что-то выходит из строя. Тулпар потихоньку начинает трещать по швам."
Кёрли зашёл в хозяйственный отсек и увидел что Дайске застрял под слоем строительной пены. Свонси раздражённо стоял рядом.
Кёрли: "Так... Ну, проблема налицо."
Свонси: "Этого пацана походу притаранили что б меня с ума свести!"
Дайске: "Я просто хотел починить вентиляцию! С чего вдруг сработала аварийная пена?!"
Свонси: "Да потому что у тебя руки из одного места, ёпт!"
Кёрли взял топор и освободил Дайске от пены, раскрошив её

Дайске: "Ай-яй! Уф. Ну и жесть."
Свонси: "Заруби себе на носу! Что б у вентиляции ни шагу, понял?" Там вся труба пошла по пизде!"
"Хочешь что бы тебя убило током, проткнуло корягой и зажарили заживо? Разом?!"

Дайске: "Ну типа... Вы ж туда не сможете пролезть и всё починить."
Свонси: "....."
Дайске: "так что я сам могу-"
Свонси: "Капитан. Прошу мой топор"
Кёрли: "Свонси. Так и капсулы повредить не долго. Постарайся что бы такого больше не повторялось."
Дайске: "Шеф, крупным быть не стыдно. У меня дед был воооот таким! И дожил аж до 60"

0 дней до крушения: "на расстоянии 21 а.е. от судна обнаружен неопознанный спутник. Во избежание столкновения рекомендуется скорректировать курс на 1,4 градуса влево."
Джимми был в кокпите и скорректировал курс праворуля, прямо на астероид. Он отключил автопилот, надеясь что корабль разобьётся. Остальной экипаж: Аня, Дайске, Свонси и Кёрли не подозревали, что он спланировал крушение корабля и пытался утянуть на смерть всех за собой. Позже, Джимми обвинил в крушении Кёрли, который хотел остановить Джимми, но пострадал сам в кабине пилота.

-Daisuke is a tall young man with a tanned complexion, almond-shaped brown eyes, and mid-length, middle-parted brown hair. He has a round face with a mole on each cheek. His outfit consists of a Pony Express yellow and red ringer tee, a pink hibiscus-patterned button-up shirt, blue jeans tucked into black boots, silver rings, and a red wristband matching his shirt. He also wears silver earrings—one on his left ear and two on his right—partially hidden by his hair.
Relationship
-As for Curly, Daisuke had very few interactions with Curly, and their relationship was not as prominent as the latter's was with Jimmy and Anya, however, Curly treated him with respect, and vice versa.
-As for Jimmy, Jimmy had a less openly hostile relationship with Daisuke compared to the others, likely because he saw him as easy to manipulate. While Daisuke tried to befriend him, as he did with everyone, Jimmy viewed him as an annoying burden who didn’t belong on the crew. Despite this, Jimmy took advantage of Daisuke’s naivety, using him when it suited his needs.
-As for Anya, Anya and Daisuke were friends, as they enjoyed playing a board game together, and were said to get competitive.
-As for Swansea, Daisuke worked under Swansea as an intern, eager to impress him but often falling short. Their relationship was rocky, with Swansea frequently dismissing Daisuke’s capabilities. Despite this, Daisuke remained determined to prove himself, though Swansea’s tough demeanor made it difficult for him to earn genuine approval.

Daisuke (Kana: ダイスケ) was an intern on the Tulpar space freighter under the supervision of the ship's mechanic, Swansea.
Personality
-Daisuke is the most optimistic crew member, maintaining his enthusiasm even after the crash. Despite his upbeat demeanor, he privately struggles with finding meaning in life, which he drunkenly confesses to Jimmy. He is naive and approval-seeking, especially toward Swansea and Jimmy, often putting himself in danger to prove his worth. Playful and airheaded, he has a love for sugar, arcade games, and thrifting. Though well-meaning and eager to help, he is easily manipulated. Swansea affectionately calls him a "useless ray of goddamn sunshine," reflecting both his cheerfulness and lack of self-worth.
Biography
-Daisuke never wanted to be an intern, but his mother insisted, hoping it would motivate him. Though initially reluctant, he decided to make the best of it and try to make his parents proud. While eager to learn, he struggled to retain information. His past suggests a carefree lifestyle of partying and drinking, and Jimmy implies he comes from a wealthy family, sarcastically remarking that "mommy and daddy have him covered." Despite his laid-back nature, Daisuke eventually grew close to his crewmates, wanting to prove himself—even if his efforts were often clumsy or misguided.

-As for Curly,Swansea and Curly share a typical boss-subordinate relationship built on mutual respect. Curly trusts Swansea enough to hand him the axe after freeing Daisuke, while Swansea acknowledges Curly’s authority as captain without question.
-As for Jimmy, Swansea views Jimmy as a selfish, delusional wannabe hero and refuses to acknowledge his authority. Their interactions are filled with tension, with Swansea openly mocking Jimmy’s position as captain and treating him with thinly veiled contempt.
-As for Anya, Anya and Swansea share a generally positive relationship. Swansea entrusts Anya with a note for Curly and later learns about Jimmy’s assault on her. While his immediate reaction is unclear, his growing passive-aggressiveness toward Jimmy suggests he believed her and despised him. Swansea was one of the crew members aboard the Tulpar. His role was to look over the ship's maintenance and to make sure everything worked accordingly, as its mechanic.
Personality
-Swansea comes across as a gruff, cynical old man who initially sees his intern, Daisuke, as more of an annoyance than anything else. Despite his tough demeanor, his actions suggest a hidden sense of care—he lies about the utility room being inaccessible, likely to secretly reserve the only working cryostasis pod for Daisuke. His way of showing concern is indirect, masking any sentiment behind bluntness and sarcasm.
Biography
-Swansea was the Tulpar’s main mechanic, a former alcoholic who had been sober for over 15 years. Though he settled down with a family, he expresses dissatisfaction with his life despite trying to be a "good man." Whether he is divorced is unclear. Before the disaster, the crew threw him a surprise party, hinting at a time when he was more connected with them.

Appearance
-Anya is an adult woman with black hair cut into a shag, white skin, and black eyes. Her clothing consists of a Pony Express jumpsuit and a pink, green, and white striped turtleneck underneath it. She wears a pair of brown sandals with white socks. Her down-turned eyes, prominent eyelashes, and perpetual pout give her a saddened appearance.
Relationship
-As for Curly, Anya had a close bond with Curly, sharing quiet moments before the crash. After confiding in him about her assault, their relationship became strained due to Curly’s reluctance to confront Jimmy, unintentionally enabling his behavior.
-As for Jimmy, Jimmy treats Anya with open contempt, dehumanizing and belittling her at every turn. He refuses to acknowledge her as a medical professional, mocking her evaluations and responding with sarcasm and crude remarks. His cruelty extends to ignoring her death entirely until forced to confront her corpse. Realizing her pregnancy would expose his crime, Jimmy deliberately crashes the Tulpar to erase any evidence, prioritizing self-preservation over any shred of remorse.

-Anya was the nurse of the crew on the Tulpar spaceship. She was in charge of the medical supplies, conducting the other crew mates' psychological evaluations, and assisting them with medical care.
Personality
-Anya is kind, intelligent, and determined, with a quiet sense of humor. Despite repeated failures in medical school, she remains dedicated to nursing. Once lively and trusting, she becomes reserved and anxious after her assault, avoiding conflict and taking precautions for her safety. Post-crash, she grows withdrawn and emotionally fragile, isolating herself while caring for Curly. Though deeply affected, she retains traces of her humor and curiosity, as seen in her teasing nature and interest in psychology.
-Anya failed medical school eight times but was allowed to work as a nurse for Pony Express through their training program. She joined to earn money and continue pursuing her medical education. Despite her limited resources, she kept Curly alive post-crash, though Jimmy often questioned her skills.

Appearance
-Jimmy is a thin adult man with straight, shoulder-length brown hair, parted in the middle with shorter front strands and a few grey hairs. He has brown eyes, unshaven stubble, noticeable wrinkles, and a scar on the left side of his lip. He wears a Pony Express jumpsuit over a white long-sleeved shirt and black sneakers.
Personality
-As for Curly, Jimmy harbors both jealousy and admiration for Curly, resenting him yet fearing abandonment. He accuses Curly of leaving everyone behind, projecting his insecurities. His paranoia is symbolized in a scene where they prepare to eat a cake together. At the same time, he manipulates Curly aggressively, breaking him down mentally. Curly, in turn, shuts down around Jimmy, fawning over him to keep the peace.
-As for Anya, Jimmy has no respect for Anya, dismissing her qualifications and mocking her with demeaning, often sexual remarks. He shows disdain for her, uniquely blocking her out in his hallucinations—either from suppressed guilt or complete lack of it. Subtext implies sexually assaulted her, resulting in her pregnancy.
-As for Daisuke, Jimmy sees Daisuke as immature and believes that Daisuke was perhaps even spoiled, thanks to his parents; despite this, Jimmy is relatively friendly to him.
-As for Swansea, Swansea is openly mocking and chiding Jimmy, calling him names like "Capitano" and "Jimbo". It's clear that Swansea doesn't see Jimmy as a leader figure and looks down on him. This opinion only grows stronger when Jimmy roofies him using the isopropyl alcohol in the first aid cabinet to gain access to the Utility room.

Jimmy
Height: 180-185 cm.
Age: 35-40 years.

-Jimmy is the main protagonist of Mouthwashing. As the co-pilot of the Tulpar, he was in charge of navigation and taking the captain's mantle in the event of an emergency.
-Jimmy's personality Jimmy is manipulative, abusive, insecure, perverted when he sees someone weak and innocent and likely to take out his anger on them, bitter, irresponsible, he does to care if he accidentally hurt anyone, he believes he was right and everyone deserves to get treated the way he treats them, selfish, aggressive, violent, sadistic, gaslighter, delusional, and jealous. masking his flaws with passive aggression and resentment—especially toward Curly. He craves authority but lacks the maturity to handle responsibility, twisting reality to justify his actions. Impulsive and paranoid, he lashes out instead of confronting his failures, projecting his insecurities onto others. Emotionally detached from guilt, he represses the truth and dismisses self-reflection.
-Struggling with poverty on Earth, Jimmy took Curly’s suggestion to join Pony Express, climbing the ranks—possibly through nepotism. Despite this, he felt inferior to Curly, fueling resentment.

-Before the crash, Curly was an average-built man with blue eyes, light stubble, and curly blonde hair formed into a middle part. He wore brown boots and Pony Express coveralls over a red and yellow tee.
Relationship
-As for Jimmy, Curly and Jimmy have been friends for a long time, with Curly likely helping Jimmy secure the co-pilot position. Curly is notably lenient toward him, overlooking his violent outbursts and taking no action after learning he raped Anya, insisting that he "knows him." Despite Jimmy’s resentment and the danger he poses to the crew, Curly trusts him to navigate alone.
-As for Swansea, Curly, and Swansea share a typical captain-employee relationship built on mutual respect. Curly trusts Swansea enough to let him keep the axe after using it to free Daisuke. However, Swansea resents Curly’s authority, complaining that everything must go through him. After the crash, when Jimmy takes over, Swansea mocks his leadership, suggesting he may have respected Curly more as a captain.

-Curly is the original captain of the Tulpar, before the crash and Jimmy takes over. He was at the top of the ship's command chain and was primarily in charge of navigation.
-Curly personality is an ambitious captain with a promising future but grows discontent, questioning his career choice. Despite this, he deeply cares for his crew, earning their respect. He has a complex relationship with his co-pilot, Jimmy, who both admires and envies him. Though responsible, his leniency and tendency to overlook conflicts—both figuratively and literally—become major flaws, as seen when he ignores a dead pixel on a monitor and fails to act after seeing Jimmy's problems. He won't believe that Jimmy is a bad guy, though he bis linded since they have been friends since young. He believes that Jimmy doesn't mean to or have his reason. He is bad at comforting when it comes to Jimmy problems.
-Biography, Curly’s past is largely unknown, but he is presumed to have worked for Pony Express for a long time, eventually reaching the "top rung of the ladder,"

The game begins in the captain's cabin of the cargo delivery ship Tulpar, owned by Pony Express. After the onboard computer reports a threat of collision with asteroids, the captain takes a course to the right, causing the ship to collide with a satellite and be seriously damaged. The lives of the crew are saved by the insulating foam built into the ship's hull. All the blame for the collision falls on Captain Curly, who was in the cockpit at the time of the collision. Two months after the ship's collision with the satellite, the ship's crew - repair engineers Swansey and Daisuke, nurse Anya and assistant captain Jimmy - decide to transfer the powers of the captain to Jimmy. After a short debate, they decide to open the cargo compartment, hoping that there will be food or spare parts there. But opening the compartment brings nothing - it is filled to the ceiling with mouthwash, which becomes a substitute for alcoholic beverages for the crew. The ethyl alcohol in the mouthwash poisons Daisuke, and Swansea, in a drunken state, breaks the screen. From time to time, the player is allowed to play as Captain Curly before the collision. From these parts, one can understand the captain's motives for an unintentional collision with a satellite: the entire crew was fired and no one had any savings for a normal life.

He has a round face with moles on his cheeks, the right mole under his eye and the left slightly below. He wears a yellow and red T-shirt with the Pony Express logo, a pink button-down shirt with a hibiscus pattern, blue jeans, and black shoes. He also has a few accessories, such as silver rings and a red bracelet that matches his Pony Express T-shirt.
Daisuke is perhaps the most optimistic member of the crew. He's almost always enthusiastic and excited about everything that happens on the ship: his charge seemed to feel like he was doing his part in the routine task of quadrupling the kitchen supplies at the request of an irritated Swansea. Even after the accident, he tries to maintain his composure. However, despite his cheerful exterior, later in the game, Daisuke drunkenly admits to Jimmy that he's struggling to find meaning in life. Daisuke didn't want to do the internship, but his parents forced him because he was an aimless young man. Worried about his future, they believed that being in a more strict environment and away from home would ultimately help him find his way in life. When he ends up on Tulpar, he's initially offended, but eventually decides to pretend everything is fine and tries his best to make his parents proud. Daisuke's relationship with Jimmy is quite strained. Although Daisuke tries his best to get along with him, as with the rest of the crew, Jimmy openly dislikes Daisuke and considers him a burden who has no place on the ship. Although it's clear Daisuke is trying to impress Swansea or exceed his expectations (as shown in Chapter 4 when he gets stuck in the foam), Daisuke often fails, causing his relationship with Swansea to become tense and authoritarian, as Swansea constantly criticizes his abilities and thinks poorly of him. Despite this, from their final conversation, it's clear that Swansea treated Daisuke like a son or ward, and it was he who offered him the final cryopod.
Hours before the trial, Daisuke asks Jimmy to help open the doors to the infirmary where Anya is trapped. After Daisuke asks her about the state of the door, Anya reveals that she locked herself in.

The only way to get into the infirmary is to crawl through a broken vent. The entrance to it is in the utility room, which is guarded by Swansea. He does not let anyone in under the pretext that the entire utility room is filled with foam. In order to get into the utility room, Daisuke and Jimmy prepare an alcoholic cocktail - they mix isopropyl alcohol (poisonous to humans) found earlier in the first aid kit and mouthwash, and then decorate it with sweetener. Having drunk it, Swansea gets drunk and falls asleep, and Jimmy and Daisuke go into the utility room.

The utility bay contains "cryocapsules" - capsules capable of putting a person into an artificial sleep for 20 years. Jimmy begins to suspect that Swansea was trying to wait until everyone died and be the only one to escape by climbing into a cryocapsule and waiting for help. Daisuke then climbs into the ventilation, where, judging by the sounds, he is seriously injured.

Anya is a kind and compassionate girl. She was responsible for providing medicine, conducting psychological assessments of the crew, and providing them with medical care. Before Jimmy attacked her, Anya was known for her cheerfulness, sense of humor, and ability to find common ground with the Tulpar crew. She is also known to be a board game enthusiast and a competitive spirit. She enjoyed spending time with trainee Daisuke playing board games, and, according to him, "she often got mad when Daisuke won games and beat her."
Jimmy often bullied her, feeling inferior. He was envious of Curly's achievements, despite Curly being his friend. Jimmy took out all his anger on Anya, and one night, he sneaked into her cabin and raped her. The cabins had no locks, as Anya herself later hinted.

After Jimmy's actions, Anya became more withdrawn and nervous. She often acted hesitantly in the presence of other crew members, especially trying to avoid and defend herself against Jimmy. After the crash, Curly was bedridden. It was very difficult for Anya to listen to Curly's screams, so she repeatedly asked Jimmy to administer painkillers, despite the fact that it was Anya's responsibility. Anya's already grave condition was further exacerbated by the crash.
