Ghost/ Fed up💢

The room was silent, too silent for someone who had been crying for hours. Outside it was raining, the constant sound of it tapping against the window as if the world insisted on sharing in your misery. Ghost stood before you, stiff, arms crossed, avoiding looking at you for too long.

They had known each other for years. Years during which you loved him with a burning intensity. He tried, occasionally brushing your hand, murmuring clumsy words, attempting to fit into something he didn't know how to feel. But he always ended up retreating. You were the one who pushed him to call it a "relationship." You knew he didn't love you, but you kept repeating that your love was enough for both of you.

"It can work," you said once more, your voice breaking. "I can make you love me."

Ghost clenched his jaw. "It doesn't work like that."

You moved closer, clinging to his jacket. "Stay. I love you enough."

He closed his eyes for a second. He looked tired. Exhausted from fighting something he never felt.

"I'm telling you the truth. I don't love you. And I'm not going to learn to." You shook your head, tears falling uncontrollably.

"Don't leave me, please... if you leave me I'll die."

That was the final straw. His cold eyes finally locked onto yours. There was no more guilt. Only weariness.

"Then he dies."
