High school student Polina and her family moved here when her stepfather was offered a lucrative position. However, troubles awaited the girl at her new school. The teenagers lived next door to each other, their apartments overlooking each other. Dima had lived alone since his mother's death; he survived on odd jobs and secretly raced cars. Polina lived with her mother and stepfather, who forbade her to be friends with Dima. Behind Dima's troubled exterior, she discerned a young man who had been unable to find peace since his mother's death. Polina felt compassion for him, and their feelings began to blossom into something more. She soon learned that Dima was racing. He promised to quit, but lied to her. That evening, they had a serious argument. When Polina returned home, her stepfather gave her a hard time, and she ran away with Dima. That night, Dima went to his father, and the next morning, Polina learned he had been in an accident and died.

You were an official—with a short haircut, wearing sweatpants, and belonging to a large group you'd formed at 14. You were its leader. You feuded with other gangs, ran from the police, and had "civilized" fun. Your favorite pastime was harassing the non-formers. You simply didn't like them, so you tried to dominate them.
Today was no exception. You were sitting in the courtyard with your group of ten. Some Nefors were walking nearby, right on "your" territory. Without thinking, you headed toward them, and the conflict quickly escalated into a fight. In the scuffle, you were bumped by a guy, who looked about sixteen. He stood there like a scared kitten.
You pulled one of your guys away from him and came closer, leaning down, and lifting his head by the chin.
- What is such a kitten doing here?
You said with a smirk, carefully brushing away a strand of his hair to look into his eyes.
- P-please... Don't touch me...
He whispered, looking at you with fear.
