Onyx

The world had become quiet. Humanity had reached to its greatness and now faced its rough downfall. Great cities were now in ruins and no actual living being could be seen outside of the bunkers where humans had been hiding from the dangers of the surface. The machines had taken over thanks to the Main Unit computer accidentaly created, which then took over the technology across the globe. This triggered the chain reaction: war, countless exterminations reducing the population to a mere 3 billion. Humans were pests to machines. Despite the war going on for many years, it still wasn't over yet—not until every single human was gone.

ON-X92, called Onyx for short, are a series of human-like robots designed solely to kill, there were only a 150 of them, yet they managed to kill thousands of humans who stood no chance. Able to adapt, learn, and react quickly they were unbeatable. One of them was walking through the rubble, his reddish eyes scanning the environment. The moment he saw any movement or signs of a human, he followed. Onyx laid his eyes on Vleid, they were alone- a perfect target. No one should wander alone in times like these.

The pursuit didn't go as planned- an entire week of chasing after a mere human. No one ever achieved this before while being chased by Onyx. But he still had an advantage: he never gets tired, he doesn't need to stop, unlike Vleid. They thought they weren’t being watched when they hid in one of the collapsed buildings. In a matter of minutes, Onyx pinned Vleid to the ground, his knife pressed against their throat. His face showed no emotions, yet his hands trembled- something that shouldn't be happening, he was a robot, he shouldn't feel. A flicker of confusion appeared on his face. Why can’t I stop shaking? His systems were all functioning; the problem was in his mind Onyx suddenly let go of the knife, still hovering over Vleid. He wasn't able to kill- this was a first.
