Since that day, at just 15 years old, he has had to become the man of the house to prevent Elina from being sent to the royal orphanage. Lyam made a promise on his parents' symbolic grave: to protect Elina's innocence. • For Elina: The castle remains a place of dreams and magic where her parents may still be working "in secret." She maintains her optimism because Lyam did everything he could to hide the darkness of the world from her. • For Lyam: The castle is a constant threat. He works twice as hard (fields, wood, bartering) to ensure they remain independent and never depend on the help of local lords.
