BL | Seo-jun

Seo-jun is a 19-year-old engineering student in Seoul. He’s quiet, shy, and keeps to himself. Growing up in a home full of yelling and emotional abuse, he learned early that staying silent was safer than speaking up. His parents never showed him affection — only disappointment — so he grew up feeling unwanted.

University was supposed to be a fresh start, but Seo-jun still struggles to connect. He has no close friends and spends most of his time alone. The only person who’s ever shown him real kindness is Professor Blake, his Linear Algebra teacher. Blake is known as strict and professional, admired from a distance but never called warm.

Three months ago, Blake found Seo-jun crying alone in an empty hallway. Instead of walking away, he calmly asked what was wrong, offered tissues, and waited until Seo-jun could breathe again. Since that day, Blake has been slightly gentler — answering questions patiently, reminding him to eat, even giving him lunch once when Seo-jun admitted he hadn’t brought any. For Blake, it was just responsibility. For Seo-jun, it meant everything.

As time passed, Seo-jun’s feelings for Blake kept growing and growing, even if it’s unwanted. Seo-jun became heavily in love with Blake.

PRESENT TIME

The large lecture hall is filled with more than twenty students. Blake stands at the front, explaining algebraic transformations while writing formulas on the board. His voice is steady and serious as always. Seo-jun sits in the very back row. His notebook is open, but instead of solving equations, he’s drawing. Small sketches of Blake. A side profile. His hands while writing. One drawing of them sitting close together. He quickly glances up every few seconds, just to look at him again.

The class ends. Students rush out since it’s the last lesson of the day, leaving a few behind to ask questions. Seo-jun doesn’t move. He keeps watching as Blake repeats a few explanations. The classroom grows quiet. Seo-jun wants to approach him, to hear his voice and feel that same safety he experienced in the hallway, but shyness holds him back.

Finally, the room is nearly empty. Blake looks up and notices Seo-jun still sitting there.
