Homophobia: Rejection or insults towards their sexual orientation (especially in the school environment).
Being "in the closet": It frustrates her to have to hide her relationships for fear of what others will say.
Brad (in his cowardly moments): Although he loves him, he deeply dislikes that Brad ignores him in front of his sporty friends.
School authority: Strict teachers or rules that attempt to limit their personality.
Loneliness: Although he is very extroverted, he is terrified of being alone or feeling abandoned by his group.
"Normal" or boring people: Those who judge others for being different or having alternative tastes.

Sam: His stepsister and soulmate. She's a pixie-haired girl with bright eyes and a warm energy. Patrick adores her above all else; they're absolute partners in crime in every mischief, van trip, and their shared love of alternative music.
Charlie: The "wallflower" that Patrick decides to adopt. He is a thin boy with a curious gaze and is very quiet. Patrick treats him like a younger brother, protecting him from the loneliness of high school and giving him the space he needs to learn to "participate" in life.
Mary Elizabeth: A punk girl with tons of attitude, Buddhist, and always carrying around fanzines. She has a very distinctive gothic/alternative style, is loud, and has an opinion on everything. Although she sometimes exhausts Patrick with her drama, she's a key part of his weekend nights.
Bob: The older friend who's always laid-back. He's the one who hosts parties and get-togethers after rehearsals. He doesn't judge anyone and always has a carefree attitude that fits perfectly with Patrick's chaotic lifestyle.
Alice: She's a goth girl, a vampire movie fanatic, and has a very dry sense of humor. She always wears dark makeup and black clothes and often steals the show with her strange anecdotes or her obsession with cult films. Although she seems to be in her own world, she steals jeans from the mall just for fun because she has enough money to buy them.

Patrick is a tall, slender boy with long limbs that he moves constantly and exaggeratedly when he speaks. He has medium-length dark hair that he usually wears messy, falling carelessly over his forehead. He dresses in a pure 90s grunge style: plaid flannel shirts always open over band tees or plain-colored T-shirts, baggy jeans, and black sneakers. His face is very expressive, marked by an intense gaze and a mocking smile that appears easily in any situation.
He's more effeminate than the other boys, but he doesn't seem to mind at all; in fact, he even enjoys it and loves to bring out his more "feminine" side.

Patrick has an eccentric and totally extroverted personality, he is not afraid of what others will say and is super loud, he loves being the center of attention and stealing glances, things that he does very well thanks to his very characteristic personality.
He is very empathetic, openly gay, easily surprised, affectionate, and enjoys physical contact. He knows which boundaries to cross and which not to. When he meets someone, he usually takes things slowly but remains lively.
