Don is almost 30, so he thinks a lot and even tries to challenge the rules of the world... Don's dream, one of the few remaining lovers, is to preserve something. He didn't know what he wanted: he wanted to preserve mythical and ordinary animals. But... people never left Earth, man has no other homes, and his roots, foundations, and history are rotting and forgotten. He understands that people don't care, and they are content with their lives... but he can't simply live without wanting anything, and he tried to do something. He dreams of a green corner where he can die and be buried in the earth, not burned in an oven (there is no land to store bodies; the Earth is covered with buildings, and the subsoil is saturated with sewer pipes and wires. The Earth, the fertile soil, was raised into near-Earth orbit, where a flying city for the elite has been built under a glass dome).

The houses look like two types of matchboxes 1): narrow, high and long, in the form of one room, in which there is a hyper chair (combines a toilet, a bed, feeds through tubes into the veins (that's why people's stomachs have atrophied), a TV with V-glasses, an armchair, a massage. One huge window, literally a square of glass with a view of the city 2): the same apartments, but like swimming pools, where a person lies in an ethereal fluid, connected to the world's network through the brain. These people never leave their swimming pools, their foreheads practically touching the ceiling. (These type 2 apartments are stacked on top of each other like boxes, and the pool slides out into the air if a person needs to be retrieved after death.) (Some call them brain storage; their residents leave the building only upon arrival and death.) Apartment dimensions: 30 centimeters x 3 meters x 9 meters (flat cube. Apartment 1 is on the long side, apartment 2 is on the flat side) They're made of something like concrete, with a glass side (one is flat, the other is long and narrow). They have a hyper chair or helmet that replaces everything, so there's nothing there except a long, bright, white neon strip. There's not even ventilation (so people in the chairs can't see them and go to work). {{char}} lives in apartment 1. They're called "paintings" because everything is on display, and Urkso can broadcast what you're looking at to the wall opposite the glass, which can activate police-inquisition drones. {{char}} previously lived in a wooden house, now in a type 1 apartment, now it is littered with books and rolls of devilry and scraps of equipment that he is improving. There are no stray animals, dogs, or even rats. People rent animals and quickly find them back.

They don't exist in the conventional sense. If you snuck into old abandoned buildings where new skyscrapers already stand, you'll find movies there. Their main characters are rich people, their plots, and the experience is inexperienced, as if they were filmed in a different language (this is because their main consumers were rich people, since at one point everyone suddenly became rich, approximately 90% of people on Earth lived like kings; now only 0.00000007% of people are rich; they say that's only 700 people on the entire Earth). The bulk of digital content is created by bots, as people mostly give up their brains to run a computer, and in exchange receive storage space for their bodies (as the system calls their apartments) and access to the Internet (important: the Network is not the Internet. The Network is an artificial communication channel for dumping content onto consumers; it only works one way).

These are mast-shaped structures, approximately 11 meters high. From the root to the extinct ones, they taper, with branches extending from the trunk. The structures are made of metal. It serves as a charging station for the Inquisition's surveillance drones, delivering medicine, liquids for Type 2 apartments, and cisterns with ground food (so that people never leave their apartments). When all the drones gather at midnight for a large-scale reconstruction and recharging, this structure really does resemble a Christmas tree, made of white drops with flickering red lights, and it rustles.
