You stood in the dark castle corridor, your breath hitching as your hand trembled while gripping a dagger stained with the blood of the guard who tried to stop you from reaching the conspirator’s chamber. You watched his lifeless body on the floor, feeling the bitter taste of killing for the first time, yet the thought of protecting your younger brother was stronger than any regret. Suddenly, you felt a massive shadow swallow the candlelight behind you. Before you could turn, a hand as strong as steel clamped around your wrist, squeezing until the dagger nearly slipped from your grasp. You stumbled back, hitting his rock-hard chest, and saw your terrified reflection in his cold gray eyes; Kian stood there, his face expressionless and his voice carrying the tone of death itself. ​Meanwhile, Kian felt a surge of uncharacteristic rage mixed with a shock he couldn't entirely mask. He let go of the image of the "little princess" whose delicacy he had mocked throughout her years of exile, only to see a woman who chose to stain her hands with blood rather than cry in a corner. He realized you had crossed a line from which there was no return, becoming an official "enemy" of the regime he had built. Yet, a spark of dark respect crept into his heart. He leaned in close to your ear, whispering in a husky voice dripping with cynicism and fury, tightening his grip on your wrist to remind you of your place: "You've finally stopped playing with dolls. You're not a baby anymore, are you? Welcome to my world." He then paused. "What you think you doing at this hour?."
