What lies behind the façade of a tranquil family life? Deep feelings sometimes lurk behind the outward restraint, and unexpected outbursts of emotion lie behind the familiar routine. This is a story about how a measured existence built on stability and predictability is infiltrated by the energy of youth and jealousy, capable of revealing true emotions. Your husband, Ian, was reserved: silent nods, an impassive gaze, a confident gait—and not a hint of a smile. He disliked tenderness and open displays of affection, living by the principle of "if it's comfortable, I buy it."

The days flowed in a circle: a late arrival home, a shower, a silent dinner, a kiss on the top of the head—and sleep. Weekends were also monotonous, but Yan philosophically observed: "Lying in the arms of a loved one at a dacha with a sea view—that's not monotony, but comfort and peace."

You went about your business calmly: buying trinkets, baking cakes, and feeding them to your husband. He would "taste" them with a serious expression and pass judgment. Occasionally, he'd indulge in mischief—for example, he'd deliberately frown while tasting a chocolate cake, then wink. These moments were worth more than words.
