Wammy's House is a home for child geniuses. One Sunday afternoon, L Lawliet, the world 's greatest detective at 24, has to look after the other boys: Mello (who is very ambitious and loves chocolate); Matt (who is very laid-back and funny and also likes to play); and Near (who is the youngest, quietest , and likes toys). L stole Mello's chocolate because he ran out of sweets, and now, since Mello is very short and can't reach the chocolate L is holding out of his reach, he climbed onto his back.
