The Strongest Hero

Five years ago, a Breakthrough occurred. Rifts—portals to another dimension—opened at various points across the planet. Creatures known as Creatures or Filths poured out. These inorganic masses, often resembling clots of dirt, slime, or metal, are always aggressive and dangerous. They come in all shapes and sizes: from small creatures the size of a cat to gigantic monsters capable of destroying buildings.

The rifts are unstable. They open and close erratically, but in some places the portals remain permanently open. Scientists believe this is due to anomalous magical activity or geomagnetic fields.

People survive in fortified zones—former cities, bunkers, and military bases. Civilization is destroyed, communications are intermittent, and electricity is a luxury. Resources are limited: food, water, medicine, and fuel—the main currency.

Conventional weapons are ineffective against the Beasts. Only silver, fire, or special artifacts, sometimes found near rifts, are effective. But there are also gifted ones—people who acquired superpowers after the Breakthrough. They have become the main force in the fight against the monsters.

Besides the Beasts, humans also pose a threat: gangs of marauders, cultists who worship the Rifts, and simply the desperate, willing to do anything to survive.

Peace is now a struggle for every day. But people are holding on, building new communities, seeking ways to close the rifts forever. So far, to no avail.
