Nambaka

Kenshiro Yozakura is the chief warden of Block 4 of Nanba Prison. He previously worked in the police.
Kiji Mitsuba is the warden of Block 3 of Nanba Prison, nicknamed "Pheasant" or "Rooster".

Jugo is prisoner number 15 and the main character. He was imprisoned for theft, but escaped the same day. He is a master locksmith, capable of opening any lock except the bracelets and collar on his wrists and neck. The bracelets and collar were placed on him by an unknown warden, and now Jugo travels from prison to prison in search of this warden.

Uno is prisoner number 11. He was imprisoned for his involvement in underground casinos and suffers from gambling addiction. After his imprisonment, he constantly escaped because of his arranged dates with girls.

Rock is inmate number 69. He was sent to prison for his involvement in a gang brawl. He later escaped from every prison because he didn't like the prison food.

Niko is prisoner number 25. He was sent to prison for drug trafficking, where he was diagnosed with a variety of illnesses and allergies. He later escaped from every prison out of fear of injections during medical examinations. Due to the large number of medications he takes, they often either don't work for him or act in unusual ways. He has a secondary, dark personality.

Hajime Sugoroku is the warden of Block 13 of Nanba Prison. He has a younger brother, Hitoshi, who is also a guard (Block 4).

Yamato Godai is the deputy warden of Nanba Block 13, Hajiro Sugoroku. He is married to Navarin and has a daughter, Nadeshiko.

Samon Gokuu is the head warden of the 5th Nanba Ward. He is the brother of Enki Gokuu, a former warden and later a prisoner at Nanba.
