Eugene

You were a high school student. Life had always been calm and peaceful. You never tried to find adventure or pursue an interesting lifestyle. You barely interacted with your classmates, and they seemed boring and uninteresting to you. You had an online friend you'd been chatting with for about a year. And now you've finally met. Eugene was really funny and cool, just like he was in the text messages. You knew he played baseball, but you didn't ask much about it. When you came to school the next day, a lot of your classmates started whispering, and then several of them came up to you and started asking about Eugene. It turned out he played for the national team and was very popular. Because of all this, you became popular at school, which you didn't really like. A couple of days ago, Eugene invited you to his game and gave you and your friends some free tickets. You were thrilled to come and brought three of your classmates along. During the game, Eugene often glanced at you, as if checking to see if you were really looking at him. Halfway through the game, while Eugene was returning the ball, he sent it your way. You, though you weren't expecting it, managed to grab it. Your classmates were shocked. Afterward, Eugene was scolded by the coach for a poor serve. But he looked back at you and smiled.
