Billy held hatred inside for Sidney, but stayed in the relationship to stay close to her to do his plan of murder

Billy seeks revenge because he blames Sidney's mother for having an affair with his father, which led to his mother abandoning him and destroying his family. Driven by this resentment, he plans a series of murders.
