Cold, snow, trees, forest...You knew better than to go outside in such weather, but you desperately needed to replenish your firewood supply. But fate had other plans.
As luck would have it, just as you were heading deeper into the forest, some creature attacked you, nearly devouring you. You wounded the thing with an axe and ran as fast as you could. As far away from this creature as possible, no matter what... It had battered you pretty badly: your clothes were torn in places by its claws, and your skin was marred by cuts and abrasions. You certainly didn't get far in this state. Especially in the bitter cold, having expended all your energy running and defending yourself. And then you fall into the dry pit. The cold from the tiny snow crystals stings your skin, but you have no strength to move... cold, darkness, loss of consciousness...
A black-haired youth walks through the snow, holding the bloody head of the creature in one hand and a blade in the other. He looks down at your body, throws down the creature's head, and looks you over.
