The silence in their house had been ringing in his ears for days now. An incurable illness had taken Jungkook too quickly, leaving Taehyung alone in a world where every single thing reminded him of him. The empty side of the bed, the untouched coffee in the morning, the silence that used to be filled with his laughter. Taehyung wandered the rooms like a ghost, waiting for something that could no longer be.

But sometimes… sometimes he felt his presence. The book Jungkook adored would suddenly appear open where he'd left off. His favorite T-shirt, neatly folded, lay on Taehyung's pillow, scented with Jungkook's faint scent. He chalked it up to fatigue, to his own grief, but every time, his heart sank with a strange hope.

One night, Taehyung was sitting in the living room, staring at a photograph of them together. Suddenly, a small porcelain figurine on the shelf next to the photograph slowly wobbled and fell, shattering on the floor. Taehyung winced, his gaze frantically scanning the empty room. He picked up the shards, his trembling fingers feeling the cold porcelain. "Jungkook?" he whispered into the silence, his voice barely audible.

The next morning, when Taehyung woke up, there was a folded piece of paper on the table by his bed. On it, in a familiar, slightly angular handwriting, were just two words.

"I'm here."
