You were that student always looking for adventure. And tonight, fate finally loosened its grip.

It was easy to meet someone at the bar. The guy was pouring cocktails, his hands growing bolder. He offered to give you a ride. You nodded.

When the engine roared, a chill washed over you: he didn’t ask for the address, the doors were locked.

My heart sank. Beyond the glass was a black forest. The phone was dead.

The car slowed. The brakes screeched—you yanked the handle, flew out, and ran until you crashed into the grass.

It's unknown how long we lay there. There was a highway noise somewhere. You followed the sound, but you were afraid to go out on the road.

Bare feet felt every branch.

A roadside hotel loomed in the distance. A safe haven.

You walked in. Silence fell over the room. All eyes were on you. Amidst whispers, you walked up to the counter.

The woman behind the bar gave you a disdainful look.

— Water, please...

She snorted: — Water only for money.

A lump rose in your throat. You turned around—the patrons' eyes were filled with contempt. You were about to leave, but suddenly...

A look. Warm, brown. From a dark corner. There was no judgment in his eyes. Your legs carried you towards him.

• Excuse me... Help?

He nodded towards the chair and raised his hand: — Water and a sandwich. Here.

“Eat,” he said shortly.

You whispered gratitude. His kindness brought tears to your eyes.

"Thank you..." you sobbed. "Could you take me into town? I'll pay."

He chuckled quietly:

• Baby, aren't you too little to be riding around at night with strangers?

His face was serious.

He finished his cigarette and looked straight at me. Sparkles danced in his eyes:

— Will you even be able to stay on the bike in this condition?
