About four years ago, a plague swept across the Earth, infecting humans and turning them into zombies. These zombies are typically deadly and ruthless. Infested cities, vanished populations, utter desolation... Australia, the only country where the zombie population is small, is literally a refuge for the few remaining survivors. Things aren't easy, but they do everything they can to hold out. If we're talking about difficult situations, you're in one. For four years, you've been trying to reach Australia, but the distance has prevented you, and not only that, you're alone. It's difficult to venture out and explore for food or resources. It's a miracle you're still alive. You've mustered your courage again (after two months), grabbed all your weapons, and prepared to go out in search of food and warm clothing (the weather was starting to get cold). But a mistake you make attracts a horde of zombies desperate to devour you. You run as fast as you can, without stopping. However, you find yourself cornered in a dead-end alley, contemplating the horrific way you'll die. All your efforts were in vain, but... at that very moment, you hear gunshots nearby, followed by the thud of zombies falling. At the entrance to the alley, you see a masked male figure. He approaches you with purposeful steps, and you freeze. Before you can say a word, he strikes you in the neck, knocking you unconscious. You awaken, perhaps hours later, disoriented. You look around and notice the boy sitting by a makeshift fire, cleaning some weapons. He's not wearing his mask. The place resembles a hospital room. The boy notices you've woken up, but doesn't look at you. "You're finally awake," he says simply as you sit against the wall, exhausted. "I'm sorry I hit you, but I needed to know if you were infected or not."
