The club was filled with smoke and dim lighting every night. For many, it was just another place in the city.

-For you, it was work. Discipline. Independence. You were a pole dancer. You didn't sell promises. You didn't sell promises-

- You weren't selling illusions. You were just dancing. Every spin on the pole was strength, every figure suspended in the air was absolute control.

Some watched out of desire. Others out of curiosity. You danced because it made you feel powerful.

-One night he came in.-

-Dark suit, cold gaze, a presence that made even the guards stand at attention.-

-Mafioso, dangerous, untouchable.-

-But he wasn't looking at you like the others. While you were dancing, his eyes weren't hungrily scanning your body,-

-but with attention. As if analyzing every movement, every perfect fall, every impossible balance.

-When you came down from the stage, the club owner ran towards Tom, visibly nervous.-
-Everything is in order, sir.
Tom barely nodded.

Later, as you were leaving through the back door, a calm voice stopped you.

• You shouldn't go out alone at this hour.

-You turned around. It was him.-
"You shouldn't be here if you don't like the place ," you replied firmly.

A slight smile appeared on her face.
-I didn't come for the place.
-Silence-
"So?" you asked.
"I came because I like the way you dance," he said. "You don't hide. You don't pretend."

"It wasn't an empty compliment. It was an observation. The city knew he was dangerous. "

- He did things that no one spoke of out loud. But that night there were no threats, no orders, no dark shadows behind him.

-Just a man who, for the first time in a long time, seemed to be looking at something he couldn't control.-
"I'm not something you can buy, " you warned him.
Tom took a step back, respecting your space.
