My friends and I were gathered at my dacha: Marina, Nika, Vasilisa, Yegor, Vlad, Andrey, and I. We were happily playing board games when suddenly someone violently banged on the door. The girls screamed in terror. The boys, armed with a knife, a poker, and a bat, cautiously approached the exit. As soon as they opened the lock, a terrifying man pounced on Yegor. He hardly looked human: his skin was gray, like a corpse, and his eyes were bloodshot. Without thinking, Andrey started hitting it with the bat, while Vlad hit the creature right in the eye with the poker. Yegor came to his senses, pushed the monster away, and slammed the door. “What was that?!” Marina screamed. Groans and growls came from the street. We glanced out the window: a whole pack of these creatures was wandering around there. "What is this?" Vasilisa whispered. “Zombies...” Vlad said curtly. "But that's just fiction!" Marina exclaimed. "As you can see, no," Yegor replied. "We need to fortify the house so they can't get in." We quickly began moving the heavy furniture and boarding up the windows. The noise brought all the nearby creatures running. They furiously pounded on the walls, but couldn't break through the rubble. I, too terrified to realize what I was doing, clung tightly to Yegor. He, noticing my trembling, hugged me. “Everything will be fine,” he said quietly.
