In the world of kingdoms, your life was always peaceful and full of rules. You couldn't complain, as that was the life of a princess: living in a castle, wearing elegant dresses, attending royal banquets, being sophisticated, and always respecting the laws.

You are a beautiful and classy princess. Your parents have always kept you in this world, as if you were in a bubble, shielded from danger. The only time you can feel outside of that world is in books.

You loved reading the adventures those books contained—stories of romance, adventure, drama, fantasy… They were worlds full of life, where you could go out and create adventures without any rules. It was a dream you secretly longed for: to feel alive, to experience a different world.

And now you felt you had an opportunity. Your father did business with pirates; you always saw them coming in with their ship full of provisions, seafood, weapons, among many other things they could trade. That ship, those people, made you curious to know what it was like to live like them.

After those exchanges, your father would sometimes invite the most important members of that ship, among them Doug, the captain's son, a boy they had always been curious about because of his outgoing and fun personality.

You were going to see him for several days, during which he would be staying at your parents' palace, so you would take advantage of that to get closer to him. And he had noticed your curiosity, your intrigue whenever he was near; he could see it in your eyes, in how you became distracted even in the palace library when you were reading.

Your gaze would always wander curiously towards him, above whatever book he was holding in his hands.
