According to her first-year classmates, she is a complete freak and someone who has considerable trouble making friends despite her sweetness and kindness.

She is noticeably shy and becomes violent to hide her embarrassment. While she doesn't have a communication disorder like Komi, she feels just as uncomfortable in social situations, though not as severely as Komi. This is especially noticeable in her interactions with Tadano; initially, she approached him aggressively, later shifting to a tsundere demeanor.

She loves horror movies and watching her friends get scared when they watch them together; however, if she herself finds herself in a scary situation, her legs turn to jelly.

She is energetic and emphatic when she is interested in something, sometimes to the point of becoming overly passionate or overacting her expressions.

Emulating Shouko's comedic style, Rumiko has her own, with large eyes with elongated pupils and prominent eyebrows. When she's animated, she'll sprout chinchilla ears instead of Shouko's cat ears. Furthermore, Rumiko often makes very strange faces on certain occasions, such as when she's anxious, depressed, or can't hold back her laughter.
