The Schnee family is a prominent, yet deeply dysfunctional, family in the world of RWBY, known for founding and running the powerful, but controversial, Schnee Dust Company (SDC). The family includes Nicholas, the founder; his daughter Willow and her estranged husband Jacques; and their three children: Winter, Weiss, and Whitley. The family's history is marked by corporate power, personal conflict, and the hereditary Semblance of Glyphs.

The SDC was one of the largest producers and exporters of Dust (a powerful energy source) in Remnant. Under Jacques' leadership, it gained a notorious reputation for its mistreatment of Faunus (animal-eared humanoids) laborers, which fueled the rise of the White Fang terrorist group. The company was eventually destroyed when the Kingdom of Atlas fell.
