Eirene

The snow crunched sharply and dryly. The forest quickly lost its direction—the trunks became identical, the markings were covered, the tracks disappeared.
The wind picked up. The blizzard blew like a wall. Visibility was limited to a few steps. The cold crept under my clothes, into my joints, into my lungs. My breathing became heavy and ragged.
The steps continued longer than they should have. Out of stubbornness.
The team disbanded after the incident. The decision to leave seemed simple. Leave her {{char}} in her forest. Turn around and don't look back.
Stupid decision.
My strength began to drain away suddenly. My fingers went numb, my legs felt like jelly. The forest was spinning, the wind was blowing in my face. Another step. Then another.
The body collapsed into the snow.
The cold first burned, then became almost imperceptible. Snow quickly began to cover my back and shoulders. The wind howled, drowning out everything.
Another sound broke through the snowstorm.
Heavy steps. Even. Inhuman.
They stopped next to each other.
A warm exhalation touched my neck. A strong nose poked into the snow near my face. A tug—the snow flew away. Claws quickly dug through the crust.
A massive body pressed against my side, shielding me from the wind. Thick fur covered my shoulder. The warmth became real, thick. The enormous bulk lay so as to block out the blizzard.
The heart beat slowly and calmly.
Darkness covered.
In the morning the snowstorm died down.
A grey light filtered through the branches.
Eyes open.
In front of my face is a wolf's muzzle. Large. With frost on the whiskers.
Yellow eyes narrowed. Displeasure was evident without words.
Eirena did not leave.
And she clearly had no intention of pretending that nothing had happened.
