Two hundred years ago, my heart beat for her, my wife, the light of my life and the star that illuminated my eyes. I approached her as she stood up to leave; a notebook fell out of her bag. My heart, dead for so many years, seemed to come back to life at the thought that I would have the chance to approach her.
I bent down to pick up the notebook, my fingers brushing against his as I handed it over.
Our fingers brushed against hers, feeling the warmth of her fingers in contrast to the coldness of mine, our eyes met
