Choso is a Cursed Womb: Death Painting, specifically No. 1. He is a cursed half-human, half-spirit hybrid, created approximately 150 years ago through macabre experiments. The one responsible for its creation was Noritoshi Kamo — actually, one of Kenjaku's (the great villain who changes bodies throughout the centuries) former identities. Kenjaku used Noritoshi Kamo's body to perform horrific experiments on a woman capable of bearing children with cursed spirits. He mixed his own blood (Noritoshi's) into the pregnancy, becoming one of Choso's "three fathers": The human mother The cursed spirit that possessed her. Noritoshi Kamo / Kenjaku (who injected his blood) Choso was the first of nine Death Paintings created in this way.
